MIDNIGHT MODERN
A study in contrast, depth, and unapologetic expression, this Ritz-Carlton residence redefines modern luxury through a darker, more visceral lens. Designed as a layered composition of texture and tone, the space balances refinement with edge—where black velvet, natural quartz, and sculptural forms create a rhythm that feels both grounded and electric.
From the moment you enter, the palette sets the tone. Deep charcoals and inky blacks anchor the interiors, while warm brass and soft stone surfaces introduce a subtle luminosity—light catching, reflecting, and dissolving across the space. The result is a dynamic interplay between shadow and glow, where each material reveals itself slowly, depending on the time of day.
Custom artwork was conceived as the emotional and visual pulse of the home. Rather than simply complementing the interiors, each piece was designed to push against them—introducing movement, tension, and a sense of raw expression. Layered textures and gestural abstraction echo the richness of the materials, creating a dialogue between art and environment that feels immersive and intentional.
Black wood millwork and tailored furnishings bring structure and precision, while softer elements—velvet upholstery, organic stone, and curated objects—add depth and tactility. The juxtaposition of polished and raw, refined and rebellious, gives the space its signature energy.
This is not minimalism. This is not restraint.
This is a modern interior shaped by contrast—where luxury meets attitude, and where design is not just seen, but felt.
